I’m an Ottawa wedding photographer; wife to my curly-haired husband, Shaun; good at listening + encouraging confidence in couples behind my camera. I like warm hugs, cold coffee, and a cheesy joke is the fastest way to my heart! Hey there,
I'm Amy Pinder!
ABOUT YOUR OTTAWA WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

Slide Well, 5 years ago, I took that advice and ran with it! Since that time, I launched my business full-time, we adopted a black kitten - called Hubbell, moved back to Ottawa, bought a house and started a life together as husband and wife! As you read this, you'll probably find us reading a book amongst the white IKEA furniture of our house (we live FAR too close!!), sipping wine with friends in our hot tub, or catching up on reality TV! A friend once told me that "...what makes you happy in your free time is what you should be doing for the rest of your life"
I USED TO 'PHOTOGRAPH' DNA! True story! I was a lab nerd, working with pipettes and microscopes throughout the work week, and shooting weddings on the weekend (...and if you're picturing me in a lab coat right now, that's totally accurate)!! It was there - at the University of Guelph - where I met my husband - Shaun, fell in love, and started a business that would quickly become more than a job, but a passion for creating and spending time with happy people on the best day of their lives!

Q1 01 I believe that a marriage should be more beautiful than a wedding. Q2 SO YOU WANT TO KNOW MORE, EH? (...a that a glass of red wine can be vital for both!!) Q2 Q2 02 I love the library & always have at least 5 items on the waiting list. Q3 SO YOU WANT TO KNOW MORE, EH? (I'm most excited to borrow: the new Taylor Swift CD!!) Q1 Q3 Q1 Q3 03 I play competitive soccer year-round. Q4 SO YOU WANT TO KNOW MORE, EH? RA Centre, Thunderbird Dome, OCSL + more! Q2 Q4 Q2 Q4 04 The IKEA warehouse is one of my favourite places in Ottawa... Q5 SO YOU WANT TO KNOW MORE, EH? (...the smell of cinnamon buns & organization - there's nothing quite like it!) Q3 Q5 Q3 Q5 04 I'm one of those people who still watches Survivor... Q6 SO YOU WANT TO KNOW MORE, EH? (...and I'm forever on team Rob & Amber) Q4 Q6 Q4 Q6 05 I feel accomplished when I make a box of KD without spilling a single noodle in the sink. Q1 SO YOU WANT TO KNOW MORE, EH? (...common! you know how hard that is!) Q5 Q1 Q5

Slide TELL US A STORY ABOUT YOUR WEDDING DAY! From the wise words of my favourite reality host, Julie Chen, I've learned that a bride should always "expect the unexpected" on her wedding day!...

I've also learned that shiny hardwood floors and long bridesmaid dresses do NOT make a great combination!! On the morning of our wedding, one of my bridesmaids actually slipped down the stairs during bride prep and had to be rushed to the hospital...Amazingly, she was alright - "only one broken bone!!" - and still made it on time for the ceremony, thanks in part to a delayed shuttle, which made us arrive 20 minutues after the ceremony was due to begin!! Gulp!!

From this, I learned 2 important lessons: 1) wearing a bridesmaids dress to the ER will get you through twice as fast; 2) things WILL go wrong on your wedding day, but they always have a way of working themselves out! Bones will heal and shuttles will (eventually!) arrive. What matters most is the person waiting for you at the end of the aisle, and I never want you to forget that!!
