Living my double life 🩺📸

For those of you who don’t know, I’m finally pursuing my dream of becoming an OBGYN sonographer, aka an ultrasound technologist!

Being in a medical program while owning 2 businesses and having 2 small kids at home is without a doubt the HARDEST thing I’ve ever done (y’all I never gave sonographers enough credit before joining this program!). I owe so much to my husband for allowing me to pursue this career opportunity and for working overtime on parent duties while I’m scanning + studying on campus all week long.

Yes, it’s the coolest thing ever to see inside someone’s body every day, but boy-oh-boy is it harder than you think!!

As for balancing photography + sonography, well…that’ll come…one day. Unfortunately we’re scanning on evenings and weekends right now, which means I have to fully cut back my availability for photos. One day I’ll get back there again and I hope that being a photographer and a sonographer is the most beautiful blend of creative and fulfilling work.

In the meantime, please check in with me from time to time! This program is no joke, and it’s all too easy to get sucked into this sonography world and to leave my mental health on the back burner 👎🏻
