Bean Town Ranch Wedding Photos

his wedding season I’ll have the opportunity to second shoot for a couple different wedding photographers in the Ottawa area. I always look forward these opportunities as it’s a fun way to connect with local photographers, but it also challenges me to view the scene differently than I would if I were the primary photographer. It pushes me to think creatively and to work almost entirely as a documentary photographer by capturing candid moments throughout the day.

I met Sam, of Samantha Danis Photography over coffee one evening, and — despite our clashing views on Canon-vs. Nikon —  we bonded over our mutual love for iced coffee and wedding photography. Sam is not only a very talented photographer, but her outgoing personality and her experience at the popular wedding venues in our city really helps make her clients feel at ease. It’s an absolute pleasure to work with Sam, and I can’t wait to see where she goes next in her business!

A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure to second shoot with Sam for Michelle and Glenn’s fabulous Spring wedding. They chose to say their vows at Bean Town Ranch, which is an absolutely stunning venue, located just a few minutes outside of Ottawa.

I met up with Sam and the girls at Chez Max; a quaint bed and breakfast just down the road from Bean Town Ranch.

Michelle stepped into her dress in an intimate room at Bean Town Ranch. The anticipation of that day’s events was palpable.

I love being present for the moment when a bride realizes she’s about to walk down the aisle. Michelle was all smiles in her moment.

Michelle’s mum was so proud.

Nearby, Glenn opened his groom’s gift from Michelle. His reaction to her thoughtfulness was priceless.

The ceremony took place in the beautiful open air pavilion on the Bean Town Ranch grounds.

Warm blankets were draped over the ends of each bench. The venue spares no expense to ensure guests are comfortable and well taken care of.

Guests were transported to the ceremony location in a horse-drawn carriage. The start of a romantic afternoon.

The staff at Bean Town Ranch have practiced this entrance so well that many people didn’t realize that the bride and her parents were travelling in a second carriage behind the bridal party! The moment where Michelle and Glenn saw each other for the first time was to be perfect…

After the ceremony, the couple was whisked off for a private carriage ride around the grounds.
