Ceremony house wedding in September at Stonefields
Christie and Trevor’s little white chapel wedding at Stonefields was our final wedding of the 2022 season and boyyyy was it a goodie!
I don’t usually cry at weddings…I’m guessing that’s because I’m usually laser focused on getting the perfect shot that I don’t always have time to stop and listen to what the bride and groom are saying in their vows…(sorry guys, haha, it just comes with the job). For some reason tho – maybe because of the intimacy of the ceremony house at Stonefields – I was pulled in to listen to what Christie and Trevor had written in their vows that day…maybe it’s the fact that their vows overlapped in such perfect unison, or maybe it was the Harry Potter references and personal promises that made their vows so unique to them, or maybe it was the fact that everyone else in the room was crying (lol)? Not sure, but do I remember having to pull myself together, and to wipe away tears before getting the next shot (haha)!
Their ceremony was beautiful in every way, as was the rest of their wedding! Stonefields, of course, made us all feel like honoured guests (if you don’t know already, Stonefields is one of the BEST wedding venues in Ottawa!), and personal DIY touches throughout their day made Christie and Trevor’s little white chapel wedding feel extra special. My favourite DIYs? A toss up for sure…but it’s gotta be between the bridal party’s custom pet portrait pyjamas (see photos below!) or the drink menu inspired by Christie and Trevor’s own dog and cats (more photos of this below too, obviously)! Also, props to whoever came up with the idea to do a Harry Potter kissing game, where guests would have to ‘cast a spell’ at the podium in order to get the bride and groom to kiss (e.g. wingardium kissiosa!). Possibly my favourite kissing game of all time…!! We also can’t ignore one of the cutest parts about Christie and Trevor’s wedding, and that was that their dog – Rosa – was able to be there too! Huge shout out to Floral Reef Design for making the most beautiful flower dog collar for Rosa to wear down the aisle, and to all the people who helped pamper and take care of Rosa the flower dog all day long!
This truly was an incredibly special day to be a part of! I hope you love Christie and Trevor’s little white chapel wedding in Stonefields’ Ceremony House as much as I do!
Now that’s how you throw a *magical* wedding at Stonefields! Congratulations, Christie and Trevor on this dream life you’re building together! May dog-references, bumping dance floors, and all things Harry Potter continue to light you up this day and every day! Thank you for the honour of being your wedding photographer!
