These beach newborn photos with baby Toni weren’t exactly meant to happen on the beach…as is the story for almost all the newborn photoshoots I’ve been a part of this summer, COVID-19 lockdowns have caused some serious delays in scheduling. As you can see, Olivia and Kenzie’s daughter is not exactly a ‘newborn’ anymore…in fact she’s 3 months old (almost to the date of this session)! Now, while it would have been beautiful to document those first few weeks of life (and I almost always recommend taking newborn photos around the 2-week mark, when babies are still swaddled and in their sleepy dozy phase), I actually love that we were able to move their session to the beach and to document this next stage of baby life! They say newborns can’t smile, but Toni’s definitely reached that age when smiling is her greatest new discovery! It was the cutest thing, and definitely something we wouldn’t have been able to capture at her 2-week newborn photoshoot. Now there’s a silver lining for ya!!! :)

I feel so lucky to get to do what I love everyday, with people I care so much about! Olivia and Kenzie are two such people, and I’ve now had the absolute pleasure to hang out with them at their engagement session, on their micro wedding day, at their winter maternity photos, and now at this newborn session at Constance Bay! It honestly means the world to be trusted with photographing all these sweet memories, and I feel so fortunate for the friendship we’ve built along the way!
