If this newborn session tells a story, it’s that there’s nothing quite like growing up with a dog. Jacob and Gracie…already best friends from birth.

If you know Rebecca and Andrew, you’re bound to have met Gracie. The softest, sweetest, and most affectionate golden retriever dog, who – I think we can safely say – was Rebecca and Andrew’s ‘fur’st born. I got a thorough greeting from miss Gracie the minute I stepped foot in their house and she stayed by our side from basically that moment onwards; a little shadow, keeping watch over us, and now, always keeping an eye on baby Jacob.

This newborn session is something I’ve been looking forward to for weeks! I remember chatting with Rebecca the day before Jacob was born to talk about planning tips for her newborn photos, and was so surprised to get an email from her the next day to say that Jacob had just been born! It’s an odd feeling, being so excited for someone you’ve never met, but I know how special those first few days are with your newborn baby. Plus, Rebecca somehow felt like a long lost friend ever since we first started chatting through emails, and I know that can be pinned down to how genuinely sweet and kind she is to everyone she meets.

Rebecca, Andrew: I hope these photos make you smile every time you look back on them. These moments are so fleeting and I hope your lifestyle newborn session paints that picture of what life was like in those early days with Jacob.
