Lifestyle photos at home with a newborn baby

I’d like to rename this session to: ‘when COVID-19 crashes your ‘fresh 48′ newborn photos’! Indeed, our original plan was to take these photos nearly 4 months ago; just days after the start of this pandemic….but, as Meagan so eloquently put it, postponing their in-home family session came with a silver lining. It meant we ended up capturing a ‘whole new stage of Claire’s life’, one in which they might not have had documented had the world not been in lockdown in March. We got to see how strong Claire is on her feet; how she’s learning to find her thumb (and how mummy’s hair is a perfect substitute when it’s nearby); how she smiles when mummy talks to her; and how her fingers still look small in daddy’s hands. This is such a precious time to remember and I am so grateful for the opportunity to reconnect with Meagan and Ian since first meeting them at their engagement session a few years back.

I love being able to capture lifestyle images for my clients, and these are some of my favourites from this in-home session. Enjoy these precious newborn photos and try not to get baby fever!
