I’m crazy for the afternoon light we got for Katherine and Chad’s Petrie Island maternity photos! That summer glow gets me every time!

The decision on which beach to choose for Katherine and Chad’s maternity photos on a beach was pretty simple…Petrie Island is actually the beach closest to Katherine and Chad, and also where Katherine visited with her family so many times as a kid growing up in Orleans. How fun that this also happens to be one of my favourite locations for beach maternity photos in the city of Orleans! A no brainer, and I love how these photos came together with the clear river water and Katie’s baby blue dress (…a not-so subtle hint perhaps to the gender of her baby? hmm) :)

I met Katherine and Chad for the first time at their maternity session that day, but they’re the kind of people who are so easy to get along with that they felt like instant friends from the minute we arrived to the island. These are always my favourite kind of sessions. Plus, couple that with the incredible blue skies and sunset we got that evening and you can bet your bottom dollar that this evening was one of my favourite beach maternity sessions of the summer!

I can’t wait to hear baby news from these two and hear the secret name (as per family tradition!) they’ve picked out for their baby boy! Hope you love these Petrie Island maternity photos on a beach at sunset!
