In-home newborn photos with a toddler

These newborn baby photos with this family of four make my heart so happy!!! I first met Wendy and her family at their maternity photos at Remic Rapids, and have been looking forward to meeting their newborn baby ever since! It was so precious to see their toddler interact with her new baby brother and to see her read ‘Le petit prince’ (his nickname before birth) to him as he lay cozy next to her.

This past weekend marked 1 month since the arrival of baby Benjamin, and with it – as per Chinese tradition – the end of the ‘sitting month’. ie. the traditional practice of postpartum rest in order to help with recovery and health. This was my first time learning about this practice (there’s a lot more to it than my simple description, of course!), and it was such an eye-opener to hear more about ‘Zuo Yuezi’ from Wendy! I often feel like I learn something new from every photo session I do, and taking away this cultural knowledge along with my new friendship with Wendy is what makes me love my job so much!
