A red and white alpaca farm wedding.
I’ll admit I like Matt, if you admit you like Mat”, she said. It was their senior year of high school, and Katie and her best friend Laura both had eyes for boys named Matt/Mat. Who would have know that years later, these two would both be engaged to their very own Matt/Mats, and celebrating a wedding at Katie’s family alpaca farm. Still best friends to this day, Laura stood by Katie’s side as she married her high school sweetheart in a catholic wedding ceremony in Cumberland. The evening was spent at a backyard reception on a family property, surrounded by acres of land, honeybees, vineyards, and alpacas, but most of all, it was a day surrounded by love and friendship. This was my very first alpaca farm wedding, but I certainly hope it won’t be my last!
Katie and Matt, thank you for being such lovely people and for inviting me to your family home for your wedding day. Without you, I still wouldn’t know the difference between an alpaca and a llama (hehe) or know just how sweet and gentle these animals truly are. This wedding was a dream come true for me, and I truly hope you feel the same as you look back through these images and remember the amazing celebrations from that day. Much love, A.

These girls were some of the sweetest, most genuine friends a girl could ask for. They all stood by her as Katie stepped in to this Pronovias dress from Luxe Bridal.

Then it was time for the first look...

Just steps away, Matt waited on the driveway of Katie’s family home to see his bride for the first time…and was it ever a moment!!

These two were total naturals for bride and groom portraits!

Katie and Matt chose to get married at St. Margaret Mary’s Parish in a traditional catholic ceremony. She walked down the aisle to the harmonics of Canto Sentimento as every pew in the church was filled with their closest friends and family.

Back at Wilhaven Ridge Alpcas, we had fun with some formal – and not so formal – wedding party portraits!

That’s when Marigold – one of Katie’s favourite alpacas – made her appearance! It was amazing how gentle and sweet these animals were.

…just look at that face!! Alpaca love.

You may remember these two from their picnic engagement session in the arboretum? These two have been naturals every time they’ve stepped behind my lens!

Their reception tent had to be one of the prettiest I’ve seen – draped white ceilings, crystal chandeliers, and gold chiavari chairs. The finest of details for this day of celebration.

When it was time for their grand entrance, Matt literally swept her off her feet…

…and the toasts had us in stitches!

I just love it when an emcee encourages guests to gather around the dance floor for a bride and groom’s first dance; almost everyone had a front row viewing of these special moments.

Parent dances were next, and they were full of sweet memories.

Guests were treated to an incredible live band – The Chris Evans Band – who kept the dance floor full, and the country rock music rolling all night long!!

The Chris Evans Band surprised us all with another slow dance for the bride and groom, and the crowd cleared the dance floor for the newlywed. A second, first dance to end the night – my heart is happy!!

To the newlyweds, guests and all vendors at Wilhaven Ridge, thank you for inviting me to celebrate with you and for a fantastic evening with laughter + dancing. It was so much fun; there needs to be more alpaca farm weddings!! x
