he downtown core was full of tourists, all exploring Ottawa’s most recognizable landmarks: The Rideau Canal locks, the Chateau Laurier, and most impressively, Ottawa’s Parliament Buildings, which sit high on Parliament hill overlooking the river. Though these buildings are beautiful in their own right, there is a special time – just before sunset – where the light streams over the Peace Tower and adds to their beauty. This is my favourite time to tour downtown, and on this occasion, it was only made better by spending the evening with two amazing people in love.
We began Beccy and Scott’s engagement session just outside the Chateau Laurier. Can you see what I mean about the beautiful light?

Beccy is an incredibly talented storyboard artist who draws cartoons for a popular TV show. The minute she told me she had met the ‘Kratts Creatures’ brothers in person, my inner 12-year old I could barely contain my excitement. That show was my everything.

Scott could make Beccy laugh on a moments notice, and just the way he looked at her with love and appreciation is enough to make her smile.

In a world full of diamonds, Beccy’s gemstone ring is uniquely her own.

Next we were off to Major Hill’s Park: a peaceful retreat in the centre of the city, filled with green space and flowers.

It’s only the skyline of Parliament Hill that reminds you you’re in the heart of the city.

Scott and Beccy always have the best time together. No matter the situation, you’ll always see them with a smile.

What better way to finish an engagement session than a sunset overlooking the Ottawa River.

Beccy and Scott, I can’t tell you how honoured I am to have been chosen to photograph your wedding this upcoming weekend!! How quickly the time goes!
Much appreciation,
Amy
