A few months ago, I participated in the first annual WedCycle wedding show. With the help of family, we put together a large display booth to reflect my personality and brand, and designed a contest for WedCycle brides to “win a free engagement session”! This was the first time I had put together any sort of contest like this, but after having met so many incredible brides at the show, I couldn’t have been more excited to draw the winner!
A week later, I announced Sam and Taylor as the winners of my WedCycle 2015 draw! Now, I’m not sure if it was her fiery red hair or her heart-warming smile, but as soon as I pulled Sam’s name from the jar I instant remembered her and of the heartfelt conversation we had had at the show. I met Taylor a few weeks later – with Sam – at a coffee shop across from the building where these two first met, and it was clear right away that we’d become fast friends!
I have been waiting with anticipation for this engagement session to come to life, and last week it finally did at the Experimental Farm in Ottawa!

Walking through the Experimental Farm with these two was like catching up with old friends.

The landscaping at the greenhouses that day was on point. Don’t you agree?

My favourite part of the session was reminiscing over the days when these two first met…they were all giggles – myself included – when they pulled out their old nametags!

Sam, you’re such a natural beauty! Inside, and out.

It’s not a complete tour through the Experimental Farm, without seeing the Ornamental Gardens; so we took a quick walk over to explore the grounds.

Sam + Taylor, I couldn’t be happier that you two were drawn as the contest winners for this engagement session! It’s been so fun to connect with you after the show, and I feel blessed and honoured to have been chosen as your wedding photographer for your upcoming Winter wedding! With you two planning it, I know it will be nothing short of incredible.
I absolutely can’t wait!
Much love,
A.
