A BURGUNDY FALL EXPERIMENTAL FARM WEDDING

When Alex first saw Megan – studying at the Carleton U library – he knew he couldn’t leave without talking to her…Megan was there with her friend, and though Alex seemed like a nice guy, she wasn’t so sure about this stranger in the library… She soon gathered her books and left, thinking that it would be the last time she’d ever see him…What she didn’t know was that her outgoing friend would soon get Alex’s number, and that they’d meet again only a few hours later!

To think, if they hadn’t gone to that very library, on that very same floor, to those very same chairs, we might not have celebrated their Experimental Farm wedding this Fall! Ohh, how I love a good love story!

Megan and Alex were married at the Experimental Farm in an outdoor ceremony just as the Fall leaves were beginning to change. It was a day full of unexpected surprises, thoughtful details, and the love of friends and family.

Enjoy this sneak peek of their Experimental Farm wedding!

There’s a tradition in Megan’s family to hang rosary beads from the clothesline to ward off rain…Looking back on the weather that day – I think they might be on to something!

My very favourite part of the morning was seeing Megan with her mother’s wedding dress! It might just be one of my favourite wedding moments EVER. How sweet is this sentiment!

It’s moments like these when having a second shooter is key! My perspective from upstairs…

…and Shaun’s view from downstairs; adorable!

We met up with the guys at the Farm, just before the first look. Don’t you just love the dark blue of their custom Indochino suits!

Favourite!! The camera loves these two!!

The tall trees in ‘The Meadow’ were just starting to change their leaves, and the rain held off for the Ceremony (thank you rosary beads)!!

Then a flock of Canada Geese flew overhead and were so loud we had to stop the Ceremony…only in Canada.

And only on the Experimental Farm, do guests have to time their walk to cocktail hour with the cow crossing!!

Is this real life?? Aren’t they the sweetest newleyweds!!

String lights and white linens transformed the Cereal Barn into a chic Reception venue!

Every time I hear the song Don’t go home without me by Lights, I think of Alex and Megan’s first dance…it’s such a sweet song, and this was such a beautiful moment!

Megan! Alex! What a day! Not only will I remember this as the day we lucked out with the rain; were interrupted by geese; ate donuts from a tree; got stalled by cows; and danced under string lights…it will forever be remembered as a day we spent with you – two of the most genuinely kind, thoughtful and happy people! Thank you for inviting us to celebrate this day with you!! x
