A blush Winter wedding at Mill Street Brew Pub, Ottawa
There’s a tree that stands tall in the middle of Major’s Hill Park. It overlooks the Chateau Laurier and has views of city life and park visitors. In the Winter, its branches are strung with Christmas lights, marking a festive path along the Rideau River.
Oh, to be that tree on the night of the first snowfall of 2015. On the night that Chuck proposed.
Deb – being the planner she is – knew that they’d be spending a luxury night at the Chateau Laurier, starting with dinner at the Zoe Lounge. What she didn’t know was that Chuck was carrying a diamond ring in his jacket pocket, and that as they walked past the brilliant lights of that festive tree, Chuck would get down on one knee and promise her a lifetime.
A year later, they met back up at this tree on their wedding day; Deb in her ball gown wedding dress, and Chuck in his dark blue suit and tie. It was a moment, years in the making, at the location where it all began.
