Kathryn and David exchanged their vows at their Horticulture Building wedding, on 18/08/18: thought to be one of the luckiest days of 2018!
The story of Kathryn and David’s proposal is a total bride’s dream: a trip to Italy, balcony views of Naples, and wine at sunset. Add in the fact that David captured the moment by balancing their camera on a stack of pizza boxes, and you have a ‘David and Kathryn moment’ in one of the most romantic settings imaginable!
With help from their planner – Elisa from Toast Event Planning – Kathryn and David transformed the blank canvas of the Horticulture building into a modern lounge; complete with high top tables, couches for causal seating, and a head table with a loveseat and floral arbor.
Enjoy this sneak peak from David and Kathryn’s modern lounge Horticulture Building wedding!
I’m not usually a fan of cell phones during the ceremony…but somebody please tell me they caught David’s ceremony song on video…!!
Everyone loves a second kiss down the aisle!
The reception space – already having an industrial feel with its gabled ceilings – was softened with blush florals, champagne linens and plush white furniture. Clear ghost chairs and metallics were also mixed in to maintain that modern and industrial theme.
I’ve never been so impressed by guests during a kissing game…ever…period…like honestly…
The rules? The MC had a list of famous choreographed dances (the Macarena, Gangam Style, The Floss Dance..etc). To get the bride and groom to kiss, you’d have to get up on the dance floor and do a believable (and I’m talking recognizable!) impression of one of these dances! And let me tell you, each guest was bang on perfect!
…and ‘The Vogue’ was definitely a fave…cause…Madonna.
and speaking of impressive guests…this custom rap, sung by their MC/groomsman was beyond!!
And to finish off this post, a first dance with the newest mister and misses!!
Kathryn, David! It’s not every day we meet people like you: from David’s sassy jokes in the park (re: the athlete and the tree)…Kathryn’s warm smiles and positivity…and your hugs at the end of the night! Your friendship means the world to me, and your choice to keep things casual and decorate the Horticulture Building as a lounge was the absolute perfect decision for your day! I loved every minute of being your photographer and I look forward to keeping in touch over the years to come! Congratulations again, you sweet people you!!
With love.
xo, A.
