Choosing a location for engagement photos can be hard, but these Old Chelsea engagement photos with Dustin and Shay remind me just how fun it can be to choose a location that brings you joy!
For Shay, the decision to come to Old Chelsea for their engagement photos seemed to come naturally; it was here – in her Granny’s backyard – where they visit every year for holidays and take walks along the old railway lines. I loved hearing stories of how she used to come down to the tracks as a young girl and leave pennies on the rails, which of course were then flatted by the trains as they passed! I honestly thought they were pulling my leg on this one, but turns out it actually works!! Of course, those train tracks through Chelsea have since been removed, but the path that now fills its place offers a tranquil spot to go for walks and to enjoy the view of the Gatineau river that runs parallel.
Anytime a big life change lines up with the changing season, I feel like it makes for such a dramatic ‘before and after’ moment. This happened to me, when my daughter – Penny – was born in the Spring and it felt like we were welcoming that new change with a new season. For Dustin and Shay, they’re getting the keys to their first house next month (exciting!!!) which I’m sure also feels like a new season of life alongside the changing fall leaves. Hugely excited for them and to keep up with their reno updates as they make their house a home!
Without further ado, enjoy these Old Chelsea engagement photos with Dustin, Shay and – of course – their doggie, Piper!!

Shay, Dustin! Thank you for always making our time together so much fun!! Good luck with the move in a couple weeks and all the renos to come!! Maybe some of these photos will fill your walls one day? :)
Good luck, my friends and can’t wait for your wedding next Fall!!
xo, A.
