Aniko and Tom were married at St. Patrick Basilica, followed by a festive Fall wedding at the Canadian Museum of Nature!
I like to describe their reception as a little ‘bit of Fall…a little bit of Nature..and a whole lot of Aniko and Tom!!’
Spaced throughout the room were vertical floral centrepieces designed by none other than Rebel Petal, with hidden surprises amongst the foliage!! Dinosaur bones, cute plush animals, and tables named after some of the sweetest creatures on planet Earth (my favourites being the Narwhales or the Puffins) filled the fourth floor of the Museum. All that variety matched the quirky sense of humour from the bride and groom and the purple tones throughout the room were a perfect compliment to their Fall wedding colours.
Though the day was full of laughter and joy, it would be remiss of me not to acknowledge the unexpected passing of Tom’s father – Greg – earlier that week…to say it was an emotional week would be to put it too mildly and this loss was felt in waves throughout the wedding day. I specifically want to thank everyone who helped make the day feel joyful despite this sadness, and to hold on to the idea of love and family as being the most valuable parts of life.
This sneak peek from Aniko and Tom’s festive Fall wedding at the Museum of Nature brings back so many emotions of love and celebration and I’m so happy to be sharing these wedding photos with you now!! Pay special attention to the thoughtful inclusion of family throughout their wedding decor and enjoy this sneak peek of an incredible wedding day with incredible people!!

Daddy-daughter first looks are always one of my favourite parts of a wedding day…this next photo gets me teary-eyed all over again…

Tom has a seriously incredible group of friends, most of whom I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know at past weddings; like Deb and Chuck’s Mill Street Winter Wedding and Justin and Kare’s Outdoor Wedding at Cumberland Heritage Museum. The support from this group of friends feels unparalleled.

Tom’s grandparents were married at St. Patrick Basilica in downtown Ottawa in 1952!! Imagine getting married at the same church as your grandparents, 66 years later!!

Can we all take a minute here to all thank Luxey for introducing Tom and Aniko during their university years?? Woo woo – thanks girl!!

The fourth floor of the Museum has never seen such fierce dance moves!

Aniko, Tom…rarely in life do you meet two people as positive, unique and unabashedly themselves as you!! You light up every room and you have of gift of seeing the silver lining to even the most emotional of situations. Thank you for your friendship and your beautiful approach to life. I feel as though we’ve truly built friendships while getting to know you and I couldn’t be more grateful to have you in our lives!
To your family and friends and vendors who helped with this wedding…thank you for being SO supportive and for celebrating love in such a positive and heartfelt way! This is something I’ll never forget and I’m grateful for all of you!
With love.
xo, A.
