This is kind of hard to believe, but after having been a full-time wedding photographer in Ottawa for over 8 years, these Evermore wedding pictures are from our first ever visit to the Evermore property! There’s a pattern with most vendors, you see, where we tend to work at the same venues over and over again, which is likely due to couples finding posts (much like this one!) after searching for their wedding venue and coming across our pictures. This is totally awesome 99% of the time, but I have been dying to shoot a wedding at Evermore for years now! Add to this, some of the cancelled 2020 COVID-19 weddings (which were meant to take place at Evermore!!…very sad!), and postponements (like Dustin and Shay’s wedding, which you’re about to see!) and it was starting to feel like we’d never get the opportunity to photograph a wedding at this elegant barn venue in Almonte, Ontario! Also, don’t get me started on the fact that I was 9-months pregnant at this wedding (which I’m sure terrified many of the guests, haha!), but I wasn’t going to miss Dustin and Shay’s wedding for the world (…uhh…that was, unless my water broke, haha)!

Some of my favourite things about this wedding (other than the amazingly wonderful people in it!) were: the neon sign that hung behind the head table; the peach, coral and pink flowers that decorated the reception barn and bouquets; Shay’s cathedral veil, which has been passed down between friends for years (super cute!!); the fact that they had a grey linen Mr. and Mrs. Book (shameless plug there for our promoted wedding guest book!); and  – of course – the venue itself! Let me just sing Evermore’s praises one more time and say how incredible they were (actually, Evermore might just have served us my favourite vegetarian wedding dinner ever…that risotto was to die for!!), and also how the simple touches of having unique and expensive-feeling barware just added such an elegant touch to cocktail hour and to the reception. Of course there’s also the crystal chandeliers that hang inside the barns and the white drapery that soften the large wooden timbers. All in all, a perfect venue, absolutely stunning wedding decor, and an even more incredible couple!
