Fall cottage engagement photos on a lake with dogs!

If you’ve ever hummed or hawed over whether to include your dogs in your engagement session, I hope these cottage engagement photos push you over the edge!! I mean, just look at how happy Laura and Gav are in these pictures and the fact that their dogs Cash and Beau were along for the ride makes these photos even more true to this chapter in their lives! I love that!

Plus, had it not been for Cash (the little grey pup you’ll see as you browse this post), we would have never found the first photo location that we used at their session! The story goes like this:

Gav and Laura recently bought this sweet little cottage in the middle of nowhere Val-des-Monts, Quebec ;)  The property itself is tucked away in a quiet forested corner of the Outaouais, which – as you’ll see – was simply stunning with all the fall foliage this time of year! As with all sessions on a private property, we took some time at the start of their session to tour all the potential stops for photos and decided to stick around their house and finish down by the lake on their own private dock…that was until Cash (their puppy) went missing…ok, ok, that sounds dramatic…he was only 1 cottage down…but as we walked up to scoop him up, I suddenly saw the view from the clearing that opened up in front of us; an entire vertical wall of trees on the hill across the lake, coated in reds, greens, and oranges from the changing fall colours!!…yup, I guess you could say the dog scouted out our first photo location!!! That’s a first!!!
